Notices for Holds
Patrons are notified by phone or email when an item on hold becomes available. Items will be held for five days. Phone notification includes messages left on answering machines or voice mail. If the book is not retrieved by the patron or if he/she cannot be notified, the hold is removed and the next patron waiting for the item will be contacted or the item is shelved.
Notices for Overdue Items
Patrons are notified by email or regular mail when an item is 15 days and 45 days overdue. After 15 days have passed from the date an item is due, a library generated overdue notice will be sent to the patron's address on file. After 45 days have passed from the date an item is due, a bill will be sent to the patron's address on file requesting immediate return of materials and payment of past due fines or payment of lost items. A copy of the Official Code of Georgia will be included with all bills.
