Beginner Classes

 

Computers Basics - For beginners who want to know how to turn the computer on and off and what Windows is. Also learn how to use the mouse, the desktop and the start menu.

 

Intro to the Internet - explore using the internet to find the information you need.

 

Email Account Setup - we will use Gmail to set up our own email accounts.

Intro to Word 07- Learn Microsoft WORD a popular word processing program. This class will include learning how to start a new document for typing, Formatting the document, Saving, Closing and Opening a Document

 

Intro to Excel 07 - Learn Excel's basic operations and tools, develop a simple worksheet and how to format that worksheet. Also learn a few common formulas.

 

Intro to Publisher - Create a flyer from scratch and edit a newsletter template

 

Exploring Library Technology: OPAC & Self-Checkout - learn how to use the online card catalog and the self checkout.

 

 

 

 

Intermediate Classes

 

Beyond the Basics - Explore the control panel and write data to a CD.

 

Intro to PowerPoint - Create a PowerPoint presentation and add animations and transitions .

 

Mail Merge - Take data from a spreadsheet or database and merge it into a word document.

 

Word07: More Formatting - Work with numbered lists, bullets, themes & styles.

 

Word07: Graphics & Tables - explore inserting and formatting graphics, pictures, and tables.

 

Excel07: Charts & Tables - delve deeper into Excel with the chat wizard and formatting tables.

 

 

 

Advanced Classes

 

GIMP: Photo Editing - this Open Source software is just like Photoshop!

 

WordPress: Creating Blogs & Websites - learn to use this online software to create your own website

 

QuickBooks - learn the basics of QuickBooks; such as creating invoices, pay vendors, and managing customers.
