Emmie Nelson

Dedication from The Euharlee Narcissus Club

We, the members of the Euharlee Narcissus Club, in Honor and Memory of Miss Emmie Nelson, longtime member, would like to affirm our friendship and respect for her, and for all the personal effort she put into making Euharlee what it is today. Through her vision for the future she inspired club members and others to accomplishments believed impossible. She saw Euharlee with the covered bridge on the National Historical Register, with a marker in place for all to see. It was done. She envisioned the historical buildings in Euharlee refurbished, with flowers, shrubs, and trees to beatify the whole area. With her personal effort it has been and is being accomplished. Miss Emmie wanted a library for this area, and she worked hard for it. We are grateful that she lived to see it dedicated, opened, and named for her. Her plans for the future were many and varied, and included an historical room to be added to the library for Euharlee and the surrounding communities and Churches. She was working on a history of Euharlee with members of the Narcissus Club. She has dropped the gauntlet-we are challenged. She has shown us what an achiever can do. She has inspired us with her life, and so we must continue after her death to work to see that her dreams and visions for the future of this community become a reality.
