The Bartow County Public Library has programs and storytimes for children of all ages! Drop in for a fun morning or afternoon of stories and crafts!

Special Programs

Pokemon Clans
Saturday, January 7th - 2:00pm-3:30pm

Drop in and play, battle, and trade your fellow Pokemon fans using Pokemon cards, or Pokemon Sun, Moon, X/Y or Alpha/Sapphire/Omega Ruby. Must bring own Pokemon cards and/or DS to participate. We will be dropping Pokemon Lures during the program. See what you can find in the library! Ages 8-18 to play, but all ages can play GO! around the library!

Robotics 101A & 201A
101A -Tuesdays, January 10th - January 31st 5:00pm-6:30pm
201A -Thursdays, January 12th - February 2nd 5:00pm-6:30pm

These courses provide a lively introduction to building and programming robots using LEGO for grades 2-4 for 101A and grades 4-6 for 201A. These 4-week courses are offered by Sylvan Learning Center for $99/each or $79 to families with an active library card! Register in the Administrative Dept.

Picture Book Science Candy Drop
Thursday, January 12th - 4:00pm

Design your own parachute! We will be reading all about the famous Berlin Airlift and doing a "candy drop" of our own in the library! Ages 8-12. Registration required. Sign up at the Chilren's Desk.

Kids Cook
Friday, January 13th - 4:00pm

This month we will be making marshmallow creme from scratch and combining it together with chocolate to make smore treats! Ages 8-12. Registration required. Sign up at the Children's Desk.

Lego Build Day
Saturday, January 14th - 2:00pm

Build new lego creations using the library's Lego collection and display it in the library!

Tuesdays, 4:30pm - 5:30pm resumes January 17th

A+ is a place for elementary school students to get one-on-one homework assistance provided by local teen volunteers. Every Tuesday, kids can come for fun, character building games and activites and get the homework help they need to succeed! Rock and Rhyme Baby Time (Infants – 18 months)
A perfect place to share stories, songs, finger plays and action rhymes with the littlest ones!

Toddler Time (18 months – 3 years)
Songs, stories and crafts for toddler-aged children. 
Tuesdays, 10 a.m. – Cartersville, Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. – Adairsville

Preschool Storytime (3 to 5 years)
Stories, craft and story fun for preschool children.

Afternoon Adventures (5 and up)
Story, art, craft and drama fun for school-age children.

Tail Wagging Tutors
Practice your reading skills with a friendly therapy dog! Participants will get a free book of their choice to take home!

Book Buddies
Pair up with a big buddy to practice your reading skills and get a free book take home after each session! Book Buddies is open to children ages 4-9. To sign up visit or call the Children's Desk.
