Storytimes

Rock and Rhyme Baby Time (Infants – 18 months)
A perfect place to share stories, songs, finger plays and action rhymes with the littlest ones! 
Wednesdays, 10 a.m. - Cartersville Library

Toddler Time (18 months – 3 years)
Songs, stories and crafts for toddler-aged children. 
Tuesdays, 10 a.m. – Cartersville Library
Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. – Adairsville Library

Preschool Storytime (3 to 5 years)
Stories, craft and story fun for preschool children.
Tuesdays, 11 a.m. – Cartersville Library

Afternoon Adventures (5 and up)
Story, art, craft and drama fun for school-age children.
Wednesdays, 3:30 p.m. – Cartersville Library

  • 6/6 - Rock On! - Let your inner rock star out with this rocking storytime!
  • 6/13 - Get the Beat! - Boom! Bap! Bop! It's a rhythm filled storytime featuring talking drums and stories from around the world!
  • 6/20 - Nature's Orchestra - Explore how birds, insects and animals make music all their own!
  • 6/27 - Picnic Stories - Take a cool afternoon break with an outdoor and picnic themed storytime!

Thursday, May 31st - Summer Reading Kickoff featuring AN KA FO Drum and Dance Ensemble!

Take an exciting trip to West Africa through traditional drumming and dancing!

Sat. 6/2 - (2:00 pm) - Pokémon Clans- Drop in to play, battle, and trade with your fellow Pokémon trainers! Must have own DS, 3DS or cards to play. Ages 8-18.

Mon 6/4 - (10:30 am) - The Magic of Arthur Atsma - Be amazed with a fun and entertaining magic show by Arthur Atsma! recommended!

Mon 6/4 (2:00 pm) - Movie Monday: Coco - Bring snacks and watch the movie on the big screen! (Rated PG)

Tues 6/5 - (2:00 pm & 3:00 pm) - Make-A-Song - Make your very own music with the library iPads and Toc and Roll app! There will be two programs. Signups start May 18th. Ages 8-12

Thurs 6/7 - (6:30 pm) - Family Pajama Storytime - Come dressed in your PJ's, if you would like, for a fun evening of stories and crafts!

Fri 6/8 and Thurs 6/14 - (11:00 am and 4:00 pm) - Kids Cook Picnic - Make homemade lemonade and sandwiches and have a picnic on the library patio! Ages 8-12. Registration required! Sign-ups start May 18th.

Sat 6/9 - (2:00 pm -3:30 pm) - Lego Build Day- Build new Lego creations using the library's Lego collection and display it in the library for the entire month!

Mon 6/4 (2:00 pm) - Movie Monday:Kubo - Bring snacks and watch the movie on the big screen! (Rated PG)

Tues 6/12 - (6:30 pm) - Family Jazz Jam - Bring the family and hear live jazz music featuring the Etowah Jazz Society. Learn all about the instruments and how they fit together to make wonderful jazz music!

Mon 6/4 (2:00 pm) - Movie Monday: The Aristocats - Bring snacks and watch the movie on the big screen! (Rated PG)

Thurs. 6/21 - (2:00 pm) - Ricky the Rockin' Readin' Racoon Show - Join Barry Stewart Mann and his racoon pal for a musical storytelling romp with plenty of puppets, props, and audience participation!

Thurs 6/21 - (4:00 pm) - Tail Wagging Tutors - Practice your reading skills with a friendly therapy dog! Participants get a free book of their choice!

Fri 6/22 - (2:00 pm and 3:00 pm) - Tellus Rock and Rollers- Join us for a program of fun activites featuring rocks and fossils from Tellus Museum! Registration required. Ages 7 - 12. Sign ups start May 18th.

Mon 6/25 (2:00 pm) - Movie Monday: Cars 3 - Bring snacks and watch the movie on the big screen! (Rated PG)

Tues 6/26 - (4:00 pm) - Chess - Drop in and play against fellow chess fans! Ages 8-18.

Thur. 6/28 - (3:30 pm) - Cool Chemistry with the KSU Checmistry Club - Join us for chemistry experiment fun featuring the KSU Student Chemistry Club! Ages 8 - 12. Registration required. Sign-ups start May 18th.

Thurs 6/28 - (4:30 pm - 5:30 pm) - Book Buddies - Pair up with a teen Big Buddy to practice your reading skills and get a free book to take home! Book Buddies is open to children ages 4-9. To sign up visit or call the Children's Desk. Signups start May 18th.
