The Bartow County Public Library has a diverse Teen collection with the newest YA Fiction, fascinating non-fiction and a deep graphic novel and magna collection.   In addition, the library offers fun teen programming throughout the year.  All programs listed below are held at the Cartersville Public Library.

The library also features special teen programs at various times during the year, including an extensive Teen Summer Reading Program.  Please check back via the website or our Teen and Library Facebook accounts throughout the year and sign up for our monthly e-lert to stay informed on all of the library happenings.


Pokemon Clans
Saturday, October 1st - 2:00pm-3:30pm

Drop in and play, battle and trade with your fellow Pokemon fans using Pokemon cards or Pokemon X/Y or Alpha/Sapphire/Omega Ruby. Must bring your own Pokemon cards and/or DS to participate. Ages 8-18 to play, but all ages can play GO! around the library and do the craft.

A Plus
Every Tuesday, Beginning September 13th - 4:30pm-5:30pm

A + is a place for elementary school students to get one-on-one homework assistance provided by local teen volunteers. Every Tuesday, kids can come for fun, character building games and activities and get the homework help they need to succeed! The program will be presented by Galit and Aviel Ratson of Woodland High School alongside other teen volunteers. To attend, text @apluskids to 81010. To be a teen volunteer, text @aplusapp to 81010.

Coding 201
Thursday, October 6th - 4:30pm-6:00pm

Sylvan Learning Center offers innovative courses for grades 6-8 that teach computer programming skills through interactive and exciting projects. Teens will have a blast creating video games, animated stories and bringing their imaginations to life!

The six week course starts October 6th and runs through November 10th.

Registration is required and there is a $100 registration fee. Register today in the Administration Department of the Cartersville Library.

Tuesday, October 11th - 6:00pm

Teen Chefs: Fall Edition!

Make miniature pumpkin pies and stay for a special screening of the original Ghostbusters movie on the big screen! Rated PG

Game Night!
Thursday, October 20th - 4:30pm-7:00pm

Bring your family and friends for a fun night of gaming in the Youth Program Room. Board games and cards will be made available, and patrons are also encouraged to bring their own favorites from home!

Zombie Apocalypse!
Tuesday, October 25th - 7:30pm-9:30pm

Join us on Tuesday, October 25th, armed with your NERF gun to protect you from the horde of undead creatures that are hungry for tasty, tasty brains. Registration is required. Call or stop by the library to register. Ages 12-18.



Book Buddies: Upcoming Session: October 27th
The Bartow County Public Library is looking for reading buddies to read to Preschool aged children for the libraries Book Buddies program. The program starts at 4:30 p.m. and meets the last Thursday of the month. Volunteer hours will be awarded for participation. Have fun and help promote literacy at the library!
